I finally broke down and went to the expensive French pastry shop in town, Au Péché Mignon. I originally went there with macarons in mind. After seeing some cracked shells, I turned my eyes to some of the other pastries, specifically the tarts.
I ended up getting the key lime tart as I love tart desserts and any tart flavor. The key lime tart was in much better shape than the macarons. The presentation was pretty nice and elegant. I believe it featured whipped cream, a white chocolate, a meringue, and a lime slice. The toppings not only elevated the look, but also the taste.

As expected, it tasted citrusy, but there was also a subtle hint of vanilla. Overall, the flavor wasn't strong or overpowering. The texture and consistency was more mousse-like. It was simply divine.
I definitely want to go back to this shop. Maybe I'll get the key lime tart again since it was delicious or maybe I'll try something new!
